What are informal hours etiquette?

Answer

Many club players play during informal hours. While these are not hard rules, following these are common courtesy for most of our members.

  • Chip in with feather birdies during the match. Birdies can be expensive and it helps to split the costs around.
  • Challenge an appropriate court. While you may technically "kick" players off after a certain time, it is nicer to ask them for a game and to play the appropriate level players.
  • Don't hit on the side, play other sports, or distract the players in a game. It is rude to bounce a basketball or volleyball or mess around when there is a game going on.
  • Don't complain to ARC staff first. If you have an issue, at least ask the offending player(s) first. It reflects poorly on the entire club when complaints are made to ARC staff regarding badminton player behaviour. Please use this as a last resort.
