Where:

We are located in the back court gym on the first floor of the Anteater Recreation Center. Coaches as well as many other UCI Badminton Club members are available to help you with your game - just ask around!

Court Rules:

  • All games must be played using the 21 point, rally-scoring system. Only doubles games will be played, unless there is nobody waiting.
  • Courts are divided for advanced (A/B level), intermediate (C/D level), and beginner players.
  • Challengers must sign up on the sign-up board to play on a court. The winning side will stay on the court for a maximum of 3 games unless there are a large amount of players waiting, in which case an officer/coach may enforce a lower maximum game limit.
  • You may not sign up for more than one court at a time. If you are caught doing so, you will forfeit your placement in all courts.
  • To ensure that everyone gets a fair game and that people are playing on the correct-level court, officers/coaches may ask you to play on a different court.

Team Competitions:

UCI Badminton competes against other schools throughout the year. We have no fixed "team" and instead hold tryouts for each event. In order to represent UCI, you will need to compete for a spot. Spots can be reserved at the discretion of the officers/coaches for the regular competitive team players.

Challenging for the spot will take place on the Thursday of the week before the game. Challenge matches will be played using the 21x3 rally system, possibly in a tournament format if there are multiple challengers. There are 3 spots per event as well, so you can challenge up the ladder as well. If this is confusing, feel free to ask!
